PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
This course will provide intensive hands-on surgical training, in the use of Zygomatic, Nazalus, Trans-sinus and Pterygoid implants for the treatment of severely atrophic maxilla, using the conventional as well as the Zygomatic Minimally Invasive Technique (Z.M.I.T) with piezoelectric instrumentation.
Surgical Anatomy and Principles of Zygomatic Implant Treatment including alternative techniques, such as maxillary sinus grafting and 3D-customised implants will be presented by two leading oral surgeons: Prof. Cemal Ucer and Prof. Andrea Tedesco.
The course has been structured for those wishing to introduce zygomatic implants into their practice, with the safety of piezosurgical technique designed to minimise the risk of catastrophic collateral damage occurring to vital anatomical structures such as the orbit, pterygoid and infratemporal fossa and the surrounding blood vessels and nerves.
The hands-on skills development workshop will include the placement of Southern zygomatic, nazalus and pterygoid implants on 3D-printed models using the Minimally Invasive Piezo Technique developed by Prof. Andrea Tedesco in Italy and first presented in the UK at the Zygomatic 2019 Conference in London.
