Advanced Certificate in Management of  Tooth Loss: Immediate Implants vs Socket Preservation

A step-by-step roadmap to evidence-based management of tooth loss with immediate
implants & socket preservation

  • October 2024 – Part 1: Preparatory webinars
  • 13th & 14th December – Part 2: Face-to-face skills development workshop and live surgical demonstration at ICE Hospital

This comprehensive course is designed for both beginners and experienced implant dentists who wish to expand their knowledge and clinical skills in management of tooth loss. This includes minimally traumatic extraction techniques and socket preservation.

The course covers evidence-based techniques including our team’s published structured research and extensive clinical experience in this field. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of disuse atrophy, osseointegration and soft tissue management as well as immediate implant placement and loading using analogue or fully digital workflows. The course also offers delegates the opportunity to develop hands-on practical experience in socket augmentation and alveolar ridge preservation as well as immediate single implant placement and loading protocols in fresh extraction sites.

b) Socket augmentation & ridge preservation technique
c) Immediate implant placement technique
d) Connective tissue harvesting and recipient site management
e) Suturing techniques
f) PRF demonstration

Learning Objectives
  • What is the evidence supporting alveolar ridge preservation in the management of tooth loss?
  • Factors that affect clinical decision-making processes after tooth extraction: when to extract and place implants immediately and when to preserve alveolar ridge by socket grafting
  • Critical appraisal of treatment options and choice of biomaterials for alveolar ridge preservation
  • What is the evidence supporting the application of plasma concentrates (PRF) and other bioenhancement techniques such as buccal fat pad in alveolar ridge preservation?
  • What are the evidence-based critical steps that will lead to a predictable treatment outcome?
  • How to achieve primary stability needed for immediate loading
  • Step-by-step tooth extraction and implant placement/grafting techniques, based on 30 years of clinical and teaching experience that is backed up by the latest evidence
  • Live surgical observation of the critical procedures taught on the course
  • Digital planning and prosthetic workflow

  • Optional 1:1 observations
