Welcome to the Advanced Certificate in Full Mouth Oral Implant Rehabilitation, offered by the ICE Postgraduate Dental Institute and Hospital, Salford. This programme is designed for experienced implantologists who want to expand their skills to include the reconstruction of fully edentulous or atrophic single or dual arches.

Advanced Certificate in Full Mouth Oral Implant Rehabilitation

Dealing with fully edentulous patients can be a challenging task for dental practitioners. These patients often suffer from both functional and aesthetic issues due to post-extraction hard and soft tissue atrophy. This advanced certificate programme aims to provide structured and comprehensive training in reconstructive oral implant surgery and prosthodontics, so that participants can confidently and predictably treat this group of patients.

On completion of the course, participants will have gained knowledge and skills in 3D patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning protocols, as well as 3D diagnostic imaging and CBCT interpretation. They will also learn about strategies for treating atrophic jaws, including a comprehensive review of different grafting techniques and biomaterials.

Prosthodontic treatment options for severely atrophic jaws, including fixed vs. removable prostheses or hybrids, will be critically reviewed. Surgical options for treating atrophic or fully edentulous jaws, such as short implants, tilted implants, trans-sinus and nazalus implants, pterygoids, zygomatic implants and 3D printed customised implants will also be covered.

Participants will learn about anatomically and prosthodontically guided implant placement and restorative techniques, as well as immediate and same-day loading of full arch cases. Minimally invasive tooth extraction and socket management techniques, as well as immediate implant placement and provisionalisation in fresh extraction sites, will also be covered.

In addition, participants will learn about the technical and laboratory principles and procedures for immediate full arch reconstruction of the fully edentulous jaw, as well as periodontal and peri-implant assessment and maintenance. Soft tissue management and maintenance, including soft tissue grafting and vestibuloplasty techniques, will also be addressed.

Finally, participants will learn about 3D digital workflow and analogue techniques for treatment planning, guided surgery, placement and immediate loading of full arch restorations.

The Advanced Certificate in Full Mouth Oral Implant Rehabilitation is a comprehensive programme that will equip participants with the knowledge and skills they need to confidently and predictably treat fully edentulous patients.
