Why attend this course?

It is of the utmost importance that the oral health status of the implant patient is reviewed on a regular basis. The Implant Maintenance course will help Hygienists and Therapists to monitor the health of tissues for complications such as per-implantitis and peri-implant mucositis which is important in the long term success of implant treatment.

Good oral hygiene and maintenance is also an important part of post-implant treatment monitoring. Due to the lack of periodontal ligament support, the implant patient is at risk of bone loss and therefore the role of a Hygienist or Therapist is vital. This will also be covered in the course.

What will I learn?

This two-day course aims to empower the dental hygienist/therapist with the confidence to recognise, monitor and treat peri implant disease. The course will include the delivery of the core aspects of monitoring, assessment and tests to determine the oral health of the implant patient.
