Why attend this study club?

At a time when the morale of the profession is being severely dented by an apparent rise in litigation and disciplinary proceedings, and dentists are raising serious concerns about the negative affect of all of this on day-to-day patient care, this is the opportunity to meet Matthew Hill (GDC, Director of Strategy) and Jonathan Green (GDC, Director of Fitness to Practise) to discover the reforms that have been taking place at the GDC and how these might affect us as clinicians, as well as our patients.

The debate will be moderated by Prof. Eddie Scher (Registered Specialist in Oral Surgery, Registered Specialist in Prosthodontics, Clinical Professor Department of Periodontology and Implantology, Temple University, Philadelphia), who will pose a series of questions to the GDC Directors at the meeting. The participants will have the opportunity to question the speakers in order to develop a first-hand understanding of how the GDC regulates the profession and how the new reforms will affect the standard of dental care for our patients.

Given the importance of the professional governance and Fitness to Practise concerns in recent years, this is a meeting which should not be missed. Please note that the attendance will be limited to a maximum capacity of 60 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
